The Best Podcasts For Single Parents
Single parenting can feel incredibly full on – no matter how long you’ve been doing it! There are the logistics, the finances, the constant decision-making, and on top of that, the emotional load of doing so much of it on your own. When I became a single parent, I craved voices that really understood that reality. Podcasts can be a lifeline: something you can listen to on the school run, while folding laundry, or heading back from dropping to your co-parent, that reminds you you’re not the only one figuring this out.
Single Parent Reset – Solas Coaching
I created the Single Parent Reset podcast as a space just for you, the single, solo or co‑parent who is juggling everything and rarely has time to come up for air. Each short episode is designed to feel like a check‑in with a coach who genuinely gets it.
So far on the podcast, I’ve talked about some of the most common themes that come up in my coaching sessions: single parent burnout, the pressure to “be strong” all the time, and the guilt that creeps in when you dare to put your own needs first. I guide you through simple, practical tools to help you reset your mindset, feel calmer in your day‑to‑day life, and start making decisions that work for you and your children – not for other people’s expectations.
Along the way I’ve shared parts of my own story, from becoming a single parent during lockdown to navigating co‑parenting, dating again, and rebuilding my identity beyond being “just” mum. I also bring in guest conversations with other single parents and parenting professionals, including Betsy Cornwell, Belinda Batt and Roisin O’Donnel, exploring topics like managing anxiety, setting boundaries with your ex, and creating community when you feel isolated. My goal with every episode is that you finish listening feeling a little lighter, more seen, and more in control.
If you’re new to the show, start with episodes that speak to whatever’s loudest in your life right now – whether that’s overwhelm, loneliness, or simply needing a reminder that you’re doing enough. Listen to the show here.
